In-School Program
guidelines & Procedures
GENERAL GUIDELINES
- All activities will take place outdoors, weather and air quality permiting.
- The classroom will be partitioned off from the bathroom. Only (2) students will be allowed in the bathroom at one time.
- Entrance/Exit will be through the Mud Kitchen gate.
- All personal items will be stored in individual storage bins.
- When a student completes a project, all materials that can be cleaned with soap and water will be placed in a tub of soapy water and the space at the table will be cleaned and sanitized. All other materials will be sprayed with vinegar solution. New materials if needed, will be made available for the next group of students who wish to work on the project. Students will be given a squirt of sanitizer before leaving the activity table or asked to wash their hands.
- 6 ft social-distancing will take place whenever feasible. Given the age of the students, it will not be possible to enforce the social-distancing rules at all times.
- Certain toys, and bikes will be available for communal use along with the sand pond, mud kitchen and play structure areas.
- Students are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to school.
- All personal items will be brought to class in labeled, gallon size zip lock bags.
- BACKPACKS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
- Outside toys are NOT ALLOWED AT SCHOOL.
- Nannies or other relatives will not be allowed to work in the classroom.
SCHOOL DROP OFF PROCEDURE
- Only working parents and enrolled students will be allowed on school grounds during class times.
- Entry and departure will take place at the gate located in the Mud Kitchen area. A health clerk will be stationed at the gate to perform a wellness check and to take the temperature of all parents, students and teachers. A touchless thermometer will be used to take all temperatures. Temperatures at or in the excess of 100.4 degrees will not be able to attend class. All information will be recorded on the “Daily Symptom Screening Log”.
- Once the working parent and student have entered the school grounds, they will proceed to the “cubby” area where each student will find their own bin to store their belongings.
- Once all personal belongs are secured, the child will wash their hands in the bathroom with a working parent present. The working parent will then spray the faucet and any other touched surfaces with vinegar solution.
- Working staff will wash their hands prior to engaging in any activities and then proceed to their designated area for set up.
PICK UP PROCEDURE
- All children will be picked up at the Mud Kitchen Gate.
- At the conclusion of the school day, the working parents and teacher will help all students gather their personal items.
- When the parent or approved caregiver arrives for pick-up, the working parent stationed at the gate will locate the appropriate child and bring them, with their personal items, to the gate.
- The stationed parent will mark the child as “picked up” on the “Daily Symptom Screening Log” and provide hand sanitizer.
HEALTH POLICY
- Masks are to be worn by all working parents and teachers at all times. The mask can be removed to drink water.
- The children in 1-Day do not have to wear a mask. Children enrolled in the 2, 3, & 4-day classes should wear a mask unless there are circumstances which prevent them from doing so.
- Our school’s dedication to frequent handwashing will continue. Teachers, parents and students will wash their hands throughout the day and students will be empowered with proper handwashing techniques in order to help take developmentally appropriate ownership of their health and safety. Posters have been hung at each hand washing area to remind the students and adults of proper hand washing techniques.
- Parents, teachers and students must stay home if they exhibit any symptoms of illness such as fever, coughing, stomach aches, headaches, rashes, lethargy etc.
SNACK POLICY
- There will be NO kitchen station or snacks.
CLEANING & SANITIZING POLICY
- Green Works along with a Vinegar Solution, which has been certified by the CDC to be effective against COVID-19, will be used during class time for cleaning and disinfecting. After each class, a bleach solution will be used to further disinfect all touched surfaces.
- All faucets and toilets will be sprayed with a vinegar solution throughout the day for added protection.
- At the end of each class, all bikes, lawn toys, sand and other toys, play structure, light switches and faucets will be sanitized by the teacher.
- At the end of each school day, all used materials and equipment will be cleaned and sanitized. Gloves will be worn when cleaning the school.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
When the weather prohibits us from being outdoors, the class will move indoors and we will continue to use of our outdoor classroom for activities. Doors and windows will be left opened to maintain air-flow throughout the classroom.
USE OF TOYS & SENSORY MATERIALS
- There will be a separate group of toys designated for use by the 1-Day and 2-Day classes.
- All toys will be cleaned and sanitized before being used by another class.
- Dress-up clothes, bedding, pillows, etc. will not be available for use at this time.
- Community playdough and sensory tables will not be available for use.
